      @mitu

      Man I can't thank you enough, it's finally working! If you PM me your details, you have a few beers from me :)

      For anyone interested, after registering at screenscraper.fr and going through all SS flags arguments, I think I finally got it right:

      /opt/retropie/supplementary/scraper/scraper -scrape_all=true -download_images=true -download_marquees=true -download_videos=true -console_src="ss,gdb,ovgdb" -mame_src="adb,mamedb,gdb" -use_nointro_name=true -ss_user="user_name" -ss_password="password"

      No more errors:

      Yes. This is simply about waiting for the server to not be overloaded if not registered user. I've seen the 'V' now as well as messaging about not being a registered user. Evenings are working best in my particular time zone.

      @Norstein For the PBP scraping, I think there is already an issue opened (see https://github.com/sselph/scraper/issues/90). You could try using Skyscraper, it can search by name only and I think it works with PBP files.

      @buzz I've just checked and Scraper got installed successfully.

      Deleting /opt/retropie/supplementary/golang/ and running sudo ./retropie_packages.sh scraper was the solution.

      Thank you so much

      I get "permission denied" whenever I run this.

      I tried using the terminal and the .scraper file.

      I tried running it from the RetroPie aswell (with emulationstation closed).

      The INFO loads correctly (I think) and then when it comes to /images it displays "permission denied".

      Any help is appreciated. Thanks

      @retrolove
      Since I'm using the complete xml from the inbuilt scraper (not sselphs), I just replace the images afterwards with the one UXS creates. Then I use the RetroPie Metadata Editor to manually check the xml and add/fix the data.
      I don't know of any easy way to merge the data from different sources.

      @hansolo77
      I would bet money that you have somewhere a broken (empty?) gamelist.xml.
      Try to delete all instances of gamelist.xml on your system.
      Or you could try to ES manually using parameter "--debug", then you should see the full path of the gamelist.xml ES is trying to read.

      I'm back again trying to scrape MAME. Using the options available in the latest version of USX I'm still getting a simple gamelist without all the extra bits. Has the database been updated any with the information on clones/etc yet? I know you said this was in the works before, but this thread is 8 months old and I thought maybe SOME progress has been made...

      Never mind everyone. After installing it, I apparently needed to update it, now it is scraping everything. Thanks anyway though.

      @Russelkm I got that configuration from here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Overclocking and it was the cause of my issue. As of now I'm back to using the default configuration settings.

      Here is what I'm currently using (it's the default settings) and the scraper seems to be working fine:
      #For more options and information see

      http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt.md Some settings may impact device functionality. See link above for details uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode

      #hdmi_safe=1

      uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible and your display can output without overscan

      disable_overscan=1

      uncomment the following to adjust overscan. Use positive numbers if console goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border

      #overscan_left=16
      #overscan_right=16
      #overscan_top=16
      #overscan_bottom=16

      uncomment to force a console size. By default it will be display's size minus overscan.

      #framebuffer_width=1280
      #framebuffer_height=720

      uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output

      #hdmi_force_hotplug=1

      uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)

      #hdmi_group=1
      #hdmi_mode=1

      uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in DMT (computer monitor) modes

      #hdmi_drive=2

      uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or no display

      #config_hdmi_boost=4

      uncomment for composite PAL

      #sdtv_mode=2

      #uncomment to overclock the arm. 700 MHz is the default.
      #arm_freq=800

      Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces

      #dtparam=i2c_arm=on
      #dtparam=i2s=on
      #dtparam=spi=on

      Uncomment this to enable the lirc-rpi module

      #dtoverlay=lirc-rpi

      Additional overlays and parameters are documented /boot/overlays/README Enable audio (loads snd_bcm2835)

      dtparam=audio=on

      #gpu_mem_256=128
      #gpu_mem_512=256
      #gpu_mem_1024=256
      #overscan_scale=1
